The Ottawa Wine and Food Show’s Spring edition is back for a 2nd year. The event was such a success last year that a second day has been added. The event will be taking place at the EY Centre April 17 (4pm -11pm) and 18 (12pm–11pm). This year, included in your admission ticket is free BBQ School (Chef Bruce wood of Beau's brewery is doing pizza and beer pairings on the green egg) and Derick Cotnam of MY Catering is doing Tips, Tricks and Secrets from a pro on the green egg. Rod Phillips (wine historian, author, and journalist) is doing Bottle Camp, a 30 min. session that will give the boot to all craziness around wine and food pairings. Learn how to think about wine as your friend, not a mystery to be decoded. He will talk about his list of the 100 Best Wines for Spring/Summer. The focus of this list will be Bubbles, BBQ, Patio Sipping and Celebration! There will also be a Pati-oh-Canada section where you’ll be able to get ideas and mix up some great cocktails and your first summer party this season. For the foodies, some Ottawa Food Trucks will be on hand previewing their spring and summer menus. They will also be featuring ice cream and gelato to celebrate the upcoming warm weather. Admission is $20, plus the cost of sampling tickets. Tickets can be purchased online at: http://ottawawineandfoodfestival.com/. Ottawa Foodie Girlz is working with the Ottawa Wine and Food Festival and will be on hand on Friday, April 17 to check out the event and we would like you to be there too.
