Eat, Drink, Spring - Giveaway

The Ottawa Wine and Food Show’s Spring edition is back for a 2nd year. The event was such a success last year that a second day has been added. The event will be taking place at the EY Centre April 17 (4pm -11pm) and 18 (12pm–11pm). This year, included in your admission ticket is free BBQ School (Chef Bruce wood of Beau's brewery is doing pizza and beer pairings on the green egg) and Derick Cotnam of MY Catering is doing Tips, Tricks and Secrets from a pro on the green egg. Rod Phillips (wine historian, author, and journalist) is doing Bottle Camp, a 30 min. session that will give the boot to all craziness around wine and food pairings....

Happy Holidays

Last post of 2014... We’ve had a great 2014! Although we only started Ottawa Foodie Girlz at the end of August, we've accomplished so much. In just over four months, we have more than 500 followers on Twitter and are getting more followers every day on Facebook and Instagram. We had our first event, which was very successful and rewarding; knowing we could help Phoebe and her family is the best feeling. We wish her and her family all the best and hope to see them home soon. We’re amazed and pleased that people are starting to recognize the Foodie Girlz about town, at restaurants, shops, and markets! The story behind the Foodie Girlz

How did this all start? This all started out of my love for three things: Event planning: I’ve always loved event planning, but never took the plunge to get any formal training in it. Instead, I get a lot of joy out of planning events for myself and for others around me. I’ve been known to plan everything from small-scale things like dinner parties to larger-scale fundraising initiatives. About a year ago, I started organizing monthly ladies’ nights at my day job.
