Eat Well Culinary Workshop: Spanish Tapas Feast with Chef Rene Rodriguez

Last week we were invited by Canola Eat Well to attend an Eat Well Culinary Workshop at the Canadian Agriculture and Food Museum. What foodie girl passes up an opportunity to attend a culinary workshop? A Taste of the Italian Harvest Food & Wine Show

For the third year in a row, owners Maria and Tony Zacconi of Sala San Marco Banquet and Conference Centre have hosted  “A Taste of the Italian Harvest Food & Wine Show” with proceeds going to the Ottawa Food Bank. This food and wine tasting event features selected area restaurants, bakeries, as well as a number of wine and beer agents. This event has grown over the years from about 200 people to 500 this year.     Earlier this month, I received an email from Maria with an invite to attend this event. Keeping busy in September

September has been a busy month! Take a look at all the things that kept us busy: September was Childhood Cancer Awareness month and Ottawa Foodie Girlz wanted to help spread the word. Our founder, Judy was on the organizing committee for the second year in a row for Gold on the Hill. With hundreds in attendance, this event took place on Parliament Hill and was MC’d by Stuntman Stu. It included a walk of heros; a speech by Mayor Jim Watson who also proclaimed September 13 Childhood Cancer Awareness Day in Ottawa; an opportunity to learn more about a family affected by cancer; and a speech by Dr. Johnson (Head of Oncology at CHEO); performances by Ella Berman and...

Coming up this weekend, celebrate all things bacon at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum’s Baconpalooza! Ottawa Foodie Girlz will be attending the VIP Kickoff Reception event this Friday night September 11 from 7 pm – 11 pm. Each VIP ticket includes: live music, sample a menu of bacon-infused small bites prepared by Chef Michael Blackie of NeXT, and taste craft brews and bacon-inspired cocktails offered by ClockTower brewery.
