Ottawa Foodie Girlz supports the Shepherds of Good Hope with a holiday auction

We are so excited to announce that our online holiday auction raised $3255.00 for the Shepherds of Good Hope. Thank you to everyone that participated!! The Shepherds is one of the largest not-for-profit organizations dedicated to the needs of the homeless and impoverished in the city of Ottawa. Ottawa is such a giving community and this auction was no exception, we had over 60 local-area businesses and restaurants donate items for our auction. Items ranged from hotel stays, hockey tickets, and of course, many were food-related. A big thank you to all who supported us on social media by helping spread the word about our auction. Weekend road trip to Prince Edward County – Part 2

The main reason we were heading to PEC was to attend the Great Canadian Cheese Festival held every June. We first heard about this festival in late 2014, so we saved the date and started planning for this weekend in early 2015. The festival, now in its fifth year at the Picton Fairgrounds is a showcase for more than 125 artisan cheeses from outstanding cheese-makers from all across Canada. The festival is also a crowd pleaser offering cheese-related artisan food and drinks such as breads and condiments, wine, cider and craft beer as well as shortbread cookies, and other yummy treats!
