The Albion Rooms

I've been hearing and reading a lot of good things about The Albion Rooms. This is a restaurant tucked inside the lobby of the Novotel Hotel downtown. The Albion Rooms has Chef Stephen La Salle at the helm. He is from Ottawa and studied at Algonquin college and has been chef here since 2013. He focuses on using locally grown, and sourced ingredients in his dishes. My day job brought me to the Novotel for a day-long meeting; we ended early so a bunch of us decided to have a drink. Unique dining at the Union

Our first ladies’ night of 2015 brought us to Union 613. We had chosen this restaurant at the end of 2014 but with all of the Christmas festivities we had to postpone it until 2015 A few of the foodie girlz had heard intriguing things about it so we were excited to check it out Union 613 is a southern-style restaurant located on Somerset Street east of Bank Street. Holiday "SOCIAL"izing

Time off from my day-job gave me the opportunity to try some places that I’ve been meaning to visit for a long time. Out of town family were visiting after Christmas and true to our annual tradition of post-Christmas dining out, this year we chose the SOCIAL. Surprisingly, I had never been to SOCIAL before but I had heard great things about it. Our dinner reservation was for four on December 27th. We arrived shortly before 6pm and were seated at a banquette-style table across from the bar. The restaurant has modern décor mixed with exposed brick walls, elegant chandeliers and plush red velvet.
