It’s hard to believe that two years have already passed since Ottawa Foodie Girlz was formed. Two years ago, we didn’t know what the future held. All we had was an idea, enthusiasm and hope.  Well, now we can honestly say that we’ve exceeded anything we could have ever imagined. We had a great first year and year two was even better. Andaz opens up in Ottawa

At the end of August, Ottawa’s newest hotel opened its doors in the heart of the Byward Market. Developed by Claridge Homes this opening marked the first Andaz in Canada and also the first Hyatt brand hotel in Ottawa. The Andaz is a 16-storey boutique hotel with 200 guestrooms located at 325 Dalhousie Street where there once was an office building. The Andaz also has over 4500 sq. ft of meeting space with six studios spaces. The Andaz brand of hotels says they’re different from other boutique hotels because of its individualized service, modern style, backed by the Hyatt brand history. Ottawa joins other major cities like London, New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Tokyo to host an Andaz hotel....

Beechwood Farmers Market cookoff

A few weeks ago, we received an email from Chris Penton, manager of the Beechwood Farmers Market inviting us to be a judge in the 3rd annual cook-off. We love supporting local farmers, producers, and businesses so this was most certainly of interest to us. I was happy to join fellow judges Elizabeth Kilvert, owner of the Unrefined Olive, and Councillor Mathieu Fleury this past Saturday. The Beechwood Farmers Market is located at 135 Barrette Street (Corner of Beechwood and St. Charles) on the grounds of the historic St. Charles Church. The market is open every Saturday from 9am-2pm from June 11th to October 8th . Dominion Day
